Hi all i have a modded xbox and are able to use duck or transmit to move files from my mac server to my xbox, but that just isn’t enough for me i would like to have the xbox grab what ever i want to watch without having to get up and go to the computer and wait for it to transfer

To all those having connection issues: Make sure you’re using Static IP addressing on your Mac and Xbox. If you didn’t specifically set a 192.168.x.x (or 10.x.x.x) address, you must do that to connect via crossover. If you see 169.254.x.x as a given IP address, the machine showing that is still set to Dynamic, and you’ll have to change it. 196.254.x.x is not a routable IP address, and is a (not explained) indication that you have not valid IP. One of those two *should* fix your issues…

@Mihir: You should be able to boot up the EvolutionX disc again and make sure you have a valid xboxdash.xbe. I occasionally forget to rename XBMC’s ‘default.xbe’ to xboxdash.xbe, too ;-)

Hey, Lets say i did reboot the Xbox and it shows the “Service Required” screen, what am i supposed to do from here? I cannot relaunch the installer….

to all people who are having trouble ive gone through the same thing. my reccomendation is to make sure the ftp option is turned on under preferences and that reading all of the guides people post is more alot more work then figuring it out yourself. so take the time and figure it out, you get a much greater sense of accomplishment

Let me jump on the list with the rest who are having the same problem. transmit says the IP timed out or hung up. i have XBMC loaded with everything else loaded on here from a past friend. I need to know how to add stuff on it. I can’t get my Powerbook to talk with my Xbox.

I am also having the same problem as Brad and Ben. I have gotten it to work on occassion and i did install XBMC on my xbox with the help of a friends windows (shudder) connection. I currently am directly connecting via ethernet cable the mac to the xbox. MAcs post didnt help me at all since I already successfully installed XBMC. Please help.
