I never tried the features in QS, although i've been a user for a while. I'll have to give it a shot for sure.

After using HotTunes for a few days though, i still find myself in my old habits of going back into iTunes, hard to start new ones.

As scott mentioned quicksilver is a good alternative. I personally use butler for my launcher and it had an itunes feature allowing you to bind the pre/next etc to any key you want, it also works from any window and displays a bubble on screen saying what the new song is.

I haven't tried this, but I'm perfectly happy with my current solution for this same problem! QUICKSILVER! Besides being useful for launching programs, and other such actions on files, the TRIGGERS and GROWL-based notification abilities make it the perfect iTunes controller!

I am now using this for sure. It doesnt take up space in my menu bar as you said, and whats one more thing on my dock?

It runs smoothly and quickly, plus its a VERY small script.

Great job to Dave and the icon is sexy.
