I like it very much but the background is too light, it stands in the way somehow. How about you try to darken it a little, try something like this colour #003674.

Same with the links text colour, just a notch too light, maybe the same #003674 colour would be better.

i like the current logo personaly. That format is better though. I think that you did leave a bit to much room width wise for the side notes. You should shrnk that down to 75%it’s size. And the shine on the blue bars is a bit bright for me, mabey a blue with hex value of 66ffff and alpha of 45. Other that that its good. Im here for my first time however, so that may make me prejudice.

I’m not crazy about the way the current “sidenotes” section is designed. What if you used some sort of “dashboard sticky” look-alike for “notes”. It just doesn’t fit well with the awesome blue header. The dugg stories sidebar Is much better.

I wouls suggest using some BRIGHT ORANGE or GREEN colors. You can’t just leave that neon blue header without anything else to hold onto.

Also, there needs to be some kind of TITLE in the middle column. NEWS HERE… or something like that.

Are we sold on the 3 column approach? what about 2?

Much better than the bland grey background i always found annoying to the eyes, looking good.
